The hydraulic brakes on the CGO series, when and how

Which brakes does your Tenways have?

Look at your brake lever: a thin hose runs to the brake caliper, then bleeding can be appropriate. If you see a cable with a set screw, then the brake is mechanical. Select your model and work when booking; if in doubt we will adjust beforehand.

How do you know it's time?

Three signs:

- The brake lever comes further to the steering wheel than before before before, the brake distance is clearly greater than in the beginning, the lever feels spongy or resilient instead of tight

What we do

We flush the system with fresh mineral oil until all the air is out, check the brake pads game and alignment of the claw, and do a short test run. Count on 30-45 minutes per brake. On Tektro brakes hears mineral oil, never DOT fluid, that affects the seals.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Tenways brake bleeding cost?

€30.00 per brake, on top of the service visit of €45,00 at the door, both brakes together €105,00 total, including fresh mineral oil and VAT.

How often do Tenways brakes need bleeding?

With normal use every one to two years, or earlier when the lever feels spongy. Brake fluid absorbs moisture and thus loses braking power, just at emergency stops you notice.

My CGO600 has cable brakes, does it have to be bled?

No. Mechanical disc brakes have no liquid; we adjust them and if necessary we replace the brake pads (€24.00 per side). We do this during the same service visit.
